On 4th October, Adam and I are running the Manchester Half Marathon for the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity, in memory of our Grandma.
Grandma was cared for by the staff at Doncaster Royal Infirmary over many years. From 2019 onwards, she overcame an ileostomy, battled sepsis, spent over 8 weeks in hospital during the pandemic and faced severe kidney failure.
We would not have had as much time with Grandma had it not been for the care of the staff at Doncaster, in particular those from the kidney ward. Our family is beyond grateful and hope that any money raised will assist other families in similar situations.
