The Big DRI Abseil Terms & Conditions

By taking part in The Big DRI Abseil on behalf of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, I agree to the following:

I understand that outdoor adventurous activities, including abseiling, may be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging and accept that there are inherent risks associated with this type of activity.
I confirm that I will be 16 years of age or older on 15^th March 2025
I must inform Big Bang Promotions of any health or medical issues that may affect my ability to participate in this event. This includes symptoms of Covid 19. This information will remain completely confidential but is essential to allow the abseil team to tailor their approach to suit you and to ensure your safety.
I understand that I cannot take part whilst under the influence of alcohol or legal or illegal substances which would make it unsafe to participate in the abseil or to understand the instructions given by the abseil instructors. You will not be allowed to participate if we suspect that you are under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances which we believe would make it unsafe for you to abseil. No refunds will be given in this case.
The maximum weight 18.9 stone, fully clothed.
I accept that I need to take reasonability for myself and others whilst completing this abseil with Big Bang Promotions and must follow safety instructions and ensure that safety equipment is being used correctly. If I do not adhere to the instructions given by Big Bang Promotions there is risk of injury that could be fatal.
I understand that I am taking part at my own risk and will not hold Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity or any connected persons responsible for any accident, injury or illness sustained to the fullest extent possible in law.
Big Bang Promotions staff reserves the right to stop an activity with no refund if they deem you to be unsafe or unfit to participate.
Approval to abseil on the day is based on wind strength and other weather related events. Therefore not all conditions are suitable for abseiling. In some cases, this may result in your abseil being rescheduled to an alternative date. Big Bang Promotions and Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity will continuously monitor the weather ahead of the event and will inform participants at least two days before should we have to make the difficult decision to postpone.
I agree to pay a non-refundable, non-transferable registration fee of £35 to Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity, which will reserve a charity place to participate in the event.
I pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £200 through the participation in the event which will be used to support the work of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity and will make every effort to exceed the minimum target.
I will send on any additional funds raised directly to the charity outside of my online fundraising page within the timeframe agreed. Failure to do so will be considered theft.
I will not use my charity place to raise money for any other charity.
If for any reason I am unable to take part in the event, I will inform Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity immediately and will forward any outstanding sponsorship monies in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
I understand that my details will be shared with Big Bang Promotions, this will only be information required relevant to the event such as name, date of birth, medical declarations etc. Your details will not be passed on by us to any other third party for any reason.
I understand that photographs and filming will take place during this event which may be used for marketing and publicity purposes to promote Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity activities both online and in print.
By registering for our abseil, you are agreeing to be contacted by Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity by email, phone and post.
