MEOC theatres summer fundraiser 2025- Green bucket challenge

By Neil Isherwood

Fundraising to help support small sustainability initiatives at Mexborough Montagu Hospital. Have identified that upgrading temperature monitoring throughout Mexborough Montagu Hospital(all clinical departments) to allow more detailed review of temperature history for medication storage. This will potentially reduce medicines wastage particularly during extremes of weather or hospital heating failure. Medicines  if exposed to temperature too high or low and for too long time period can sometimes have to be disposed of this takes nursing staff time away from patient care and also increases operational costs. Temperature history will potentially mean that less medicines require disposal when temperature are too high or low as able to determine for how long medicines have been exposed to temperatures that could be too high or low. If we exceed the target would like to purchase extra monitoring devices to ensure there is full coverage at Mexborough Montagu Hospital and Mexborough Montagu charitable funds to help support developing/improving services.

I'm inspired by the work of Charity, so I wanted to raise money by fundraising my way.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can. The more people that know about Charity, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

Green bucket challenge- summer 2025

Saturday 5th Jul
Myself(MEOC anaesthetic lead practitioner) and two colleagues(Tracey scrub lead practitioner and Lucy Recovery lead practitioner) have agreed to have buckets of green slime/gunge poured over us to help raise funds for sustainability at Mexborough Montague Hospital. We're literally going to be turned green to hopefully help the hospital to become greener.

We're doing the event on 22nd July and DBTH staff can enter a raffle to be one of the lucky ones who get to pour a bucket over us and there are a few bottles of wine also as prizes. We're also running an auction for staff to bid on to pour a bucket(1 bucket auctioned for each of us), minimum bid £20. Also advertised the event on the DBTH staff social media page.
