The Big DRI Abseil

I'm fundraising to...

make a difference. Staff at Doncaster Royal Infirmary saved my life following a concealed haemorrhage after giving birth to my youngest daughter Lillie in March 2024 where I lost 2.7 litres of blood. After a quick and peaceful planned home birth I was rushed to hospital and into theatre where I required two units of blood via transfusion due to the amount of blood I had lost. It was during this traumatic experience that I realised how fragile life could be and how I should treasure every moment. Seeing my two older children again for the first time after this experience was something I will never forget.
Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital Charity do amazing work to help those in need and support those going through terrible experiences. I'm hoping that by taking on this abseiling challenge, I can make a difference to even just one person.

What I have signed up for

Some info on what I am going to be doing! On 20th September 2025 I will be taking on a 160ft abseil from a twin cage crane. It's worth noting that I have never abseiled before and I'm generally not a thrill seeker!

It's official!

I have been mulling over this challenge for a few days now, but it's now official! I'm signed up! Whilst I don't have a fear of heights, I'm definitely starting to feel the fear of being suspended mid-air 160 feet up!
