Riptide racers take on the English channel

I have worked within orthopaedics for 25 years full time, more recently MEOC but orthopaedics has played a massive part in my life! This is the reason I choose orthopaedics including MEOC as the target of my fundraising.

We are a team of 6 ladies and will attempt to swim the channel in 2 weeks time. Swimming the channel is going to be a huge challenge for all of us and will involve ocean swells, jellyfish, seasickness, boat motorway traffic, cold water and will test our endurance!! As a team we are fully committed, share the love of swimming and determined to see this through to the end fully supporting each other! Training has been intense but we are very determined as a team to succeed! Rules are strict and costume, cap and goggles only, no wetsuit or safety belt allowed. Water temperature is about 14-16 and it is said more people have climbed Mountain Everest than have swam the channel!

Any funds raised could go towards vital equipment such as fans, computers, CPM machine that could be shared with MEOC and ortho generally. Also to help fund better working conditions in the Drs/ACP office by building work stations etc. This would apply to MEOC too.

I'm inspired by the work of Charity, so I wanted to raise money by fundraising my way.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can. The more people that know about Charity, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
