I'm fundraising for...serenity suite
Thank you for visiting my Funraisin page, where I will be raising funds for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) Charity, who raise funds to support our local hospitals and help them go above and beyond in the care they provide!
I am raising money for this incredible charity because it is something very close to my heart. In 1990, I lost my beautiful son Liam to cot death. Although many years have passed, the pain of losing a child never truly goes away — you simply learn to live with it and cope the best you can each day.
Back then, there was nowhere near the level of support, understanding, and guidance that families have access to today. Thankfully, times have changed, and charities like this now provide comfort, advice, and vital support to parents and families during the darkest moments of their lives. The work they do is truly priceless.
In October 2026, I will be taking on a challenge that is completely outside of my comfort zone — throwing myself out of a plane in a skydive — to help raise funds for this beautiful charity. If by doing this I can help even one family receive support, guidance, or comfort during such a traumatic and heartbreaking time, then every second of fear will be worth it.
I am hoping to raise £500 or more if possible, and every donation, no matter how big or small, will mean so much. Your kindness and generosity will help this charity continue the incredible work they do for families who are facing unimaginable loss and grief.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, your donations, and for helping me honour Liam’s memory in such a meaningful way.
About DBTH Charity:
The funds you help us raise make life-changing projects a reality. For example, our recently opened Serenity Suite is a calming space to care for families during the heartache of baby loss.
Your funds also contribute to improvement projects, such as our x-ray artwork, which helps distract nervous patients.
During the pandemic, our charitable funds were vital in supporting staff wellbeing projects, such as the introduction of the adorable Thunder the Therapy Dog!
This is just a selection of some of the incredible projects our charity has funded, enabled by the excellent fundraising efforts of our community.
